10X Dispersion Staining Objective (DSO) is used for Dispersion staining which is a technique that gives colourless objects distinct colours, making it possible to quickly ascertain a particle’s refractive index.  The methodology relies on the distinction between the particulate solid’s and the liquid medium’s refractive indices of dispersions, in which the solids are submerged.

Chemical stains and dye-stuffs are frequently used by biological microscopists to help identify bacteria, tissue, and cell structures in their preparations.

This DSO is also used to match the Motic Panthera TEC POL (i) Light microscope to conduct NIOSH method in Asbestos testing industry.
